Festive Fun at Huskisson RSL sub-Branch’s Christmas in July Lunch
Members of the Huskisson RSL sub-Branch gathered on Saturday 26th July for a joyful and light-hearted Christmas in July Social and Recreational Lunch at The Butter Factory Restaurant, embracing the festive spirit with great enthusiasm — and a touch of cheekiness.
The afternoon featured a delicious three-course meal, enjoyed in the warm and rustic atmosphere of the popular venue. Guests were treated to hearty winter fare, plenty of laughter, and cheerful conversation as they celebrated mid-year with a festive twist.
A highlight of the event was the naughty Secret Santa gift exchange, which sparked plenty of laughs and playful banter among members. The standout gift of the day a mini pie maker became the most sought-after item, drawing cheeky trades and good-natured competition.
The event provided a wonderful opportunity for members to unwind, reconnect, and strengthen social bonds.

The Huskisson RSL sub-Branch proudly hosted this year’s Anzac Day March and Commemorative Service, bringing together veterans, service personnel, families, and the wider community in a moving tribute to all who have served our country.
On April 25, the streets of Huskisson were filled with heartfelt remembrance as marchers proceeded through town, followed by a dignified service featuring readings, wreath-laying, and the haunting notes of the Last Post. The day served as a powerful reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and mate ship that define the Anzac spirit.
We thank everyone who participated and attended, helping to keep the tradition alive for future generations.

Lest We Forget.
Huskisson RSL sub-Branch is appealing to our community to assist in locating any surviving
World War II veterans who may not have received the commemorative medallion issued by the
Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) in 2020. This medallion, created to mark the 75th
anniversary of the end of the Second World War, was made available through an application
process to all living Australian veterans of WWII.
Despite initial distributions, a number of medallions remain unclaimed. In collaboration with RSL
National and RSL NSW, DVA has enlisted our support to ensure these medallions reach every
eligible veteran within our community.
To qualify for a medallion, recipients must be living Australian veterans of the Second World War.
These medallions serve as a profound symbol of gratitude for the sacrifices and contributions of
our WWII veterans.
If you are a surviving WWII veteran or a family member of one who has not yet received this
medallion, please contact the Huskisson RSL sub-Branch. We are committed to ensuring that
every deserving veteran is honoured.
